If you want to protect the tombstone, then you should perform the following procedures.
First, you need fully to clean the tombstone from the dust, fallen leaves, flown garbage. In no circumstances abrasives, scouring powders, brushes, acids shall not be used as they can damage the surface of the stone, remove the polishing. After washing with soap solution, rinse the monument with light water and wipe it with a dry soft cloth.
Crazes can appear on the tombstone as a result of improper care. For instance, it is not allowed to cover granite tombstones with cellophane for the winter. Instead of protection, you will give the stone a constant temperature difference (frost minus 20, then rain, and after the hot sun).
